Te tūnga | The role
This role is a permanent position based in Wellington. As a Senior Business Analyst, your initial assignment will be to work as part of the Digital Programme office to improve the practices and reporting.
The initial nine-month assignment will be to work closely with the Digital Programme Director on the implementation and embedding of Programme management practices to support the projects with the Programme. This would include the analysis, design and implementation of practises relating to functions like benefit management, interdependency management, pipeline management and performance reporting. This work will involve working collaboratively with business partners (e.g. EPO, Finance), business stakeholders, the project teams and supporting governance reporting including at the executive levels.

Working closely with teams across the organisation, you will be required to build positive and productive relationships. You will be highly organised, self -managing, able to work independently and as part of a cross functional team. You will be familiar with techniques and frameworks of your discipline and be comfortable learning in a high paced environment.
The Senior Business Analyst requires SFIA Competency Level 6 (initiate) indicating a high level of organisational impact and influence, and the critical nature of this role within the wider business.
We are looking for a motivated individual with:
- Minimum four years' experience working as a business/technical analyst or similar role in complex, large scale programme environment - 7+ years' experience ideal.
- Experience in taking a outcome centric approach to analysis of problems and problem solving.
- Experience at self-management and a team player in a Programme Delivery environment.
- Excellent analysis and information presentation skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Proven leadership experience in building productive relationships, facilitating conflict resolution.
- Agility in thinking and working, comfortable working in both a non-structured and structured way.
- The relevant qualifications and/or relevant experience in information and communications technology.
